Personal Trainers: Is it worth your time?


Personal training is a rising industry as people are becoming more and more conscious about their health. Although on the rise, you have probably asked yourself "is personal training even worth it?". The answer is...it depends. There are a variety of factors that will result in whether personal training is worth it to you or not.

Is your personal trainer legit?

The first thing in determining if personal training will work for you is if you actually listen to your trainer. Let's face it, personal trainers are WORTHLESS is you ignore what they are telling you. Many of us have heard fat loss tips and advice from so called "fitness gurus" that are etched into our minds. So that when we hear our trainers say something different, we somehow think they're wrong. With all this different information being thrown around, it's not uncommon to stop and think who is actually telling the truth.

The truth is, there are still many studies being done on overall health. So even though we hear different things, it doesn't necessarily mean it's all wrong.

Which is actually why hiring a personal trainer can be effective. If your trainer is passionate and actually practices what they preach, there's a good chance they are probably fit and healthy themselves. This adds on to their credentials and lets their results speak for themselves.

Another thing you should look out for is their track record. Does your potential personal trainer have clients who have been successful with achieving their fitness goals? Chances are if they've been around for a while, they should have testimonials from clients available somewhere over the internet. Just do a quick google search and see what pops up. This is also a good way to check for any negative reviews about your potential trainer.

Once you have a list of about 3-5 trainers, it's time to schedule a consultation. Be sure to have a list of questions you want to ask before you call. Common questions are:

What ever your questions may be, just be sure to write it down on a piece of paper.

In conclusion, if you follow all of the steps mentioned above, your chances of success with a personal trainer are great. If you think about it, personal trainers are just like mentors, coaches, and teachers. Not all will teach us something, but find the right one and it will change your life.
